Welcoming Alastair Spriggs as Editor
The Snowboarder's Journal

Bellingham, WA - June 19, 2025

The Snowboarder’s Journal is pleased to announce that after a year as Managing Editor, Alastair Spriggs has been promoted to Editor.

Editor of The Snowboarder's Journal, Alastair Spriggs

Originally from Ottawa, ON, Alastair first rode the 280-foot-tall slopes of nearby Mount Pakenham. He later relocated to Squamish, BC to pursue graduate studies and photojournalism—and much bigger mountains. With an MA in Journalism from the University of British Columbia and strong skills behind both keyboard and camera, Alastair’s words and images have been featured by VICE News, Canada’s The Globe and Mail, and various Red Bull projects.

“Alastair’s dedication to his craft shows both on and off the mountain,” says Publisher Jeff Galbraith. “He’s fully embedded in snowboard culture and has the skills to go deep in search of unique content. Combined with a rich editorial perspective, Alastair brings extensive endemic knowledge to his new role.”

As Ben Kindlon passes the Editor role to Alastair, Ben will focus his energy on his new role as Digital Media Director for The Snowboarder's Journal and its sister titles, The Ski Journal and The Flyfish Journal.

“Over five years as Editor, Ben has shown the distinct ability to amplify our voice in the digital world,” says Content & Brand Director Colin Wiseman. “He’s continuously brought new visions to the table and is now primed to turn up the volume on all channels of our digital media.”
