Snowboard Northwest Fest 2017

An outdoor film festival in November… Who would ever think that’s a good idea? A group of snowboarders, that’s who. Last Saturday, dozens came out to celebrate the start of the 2017/18 season at the Snowboard Northwest Fest, a gathering of the tribe at the Pono Ranch in Seattle, WA. A slew of hot toddies and the collective stoke of the masses kept the cold at bay.

“There’s a lot of people hosting movie premieres in Seattle,” says Event Organizer Jeremy Dubs, “but I wanted to put together an event that was a bit more of a party. One that’s a little more chaotic.”

Despite some technical difficulties with the various films’ audio, the 2017 Snowboard Northwest Fest was a worthwhile shindig. Crews from around the Pacific Northwest showcased their edits and 686 premiered their new movie, Rabbit Hole, over the cheers of the boisterous crowd. Raffles were won, product was tossed and everyone left with some schwag and a smile on their face–not a bad way to spend a Saturday night in the preseason.

Thanks to Jeremy Dubs and his crew for organizing the 2017 Snowboard Northwest Event. Froth levels are at an all time high in the Pacific Northwest, now all we need is some more snow to match it.
