The United Nations has ranked Iceland first in gender equality for nine consecutive years. That’s what initially attracted Freeride World Tour champions Anne-Flore Marxer and Aline Bloc to the country, which is also home to majestic mountains and perfectly curling waves (so long as you’re willing to brave icy-cold waters to surf them). Anne-Flore and Aline have teamed up to create “A Land By Women,” a project documenting their exploration of Iceland and encounters with Icelandic women who help them to “understand their mindset ; independent, happy and believing in their dream.” It’s a film created by strong women for strong women, and for strong women-to-be.
